Finally the storm clouds have made it to the valley, but there is no rain and the heat is even more intense then ever before. With the sky a slate gray all the wolves can do is watch the churning mass of storm clouds above their heads and wait for them to open up, but they do not receive the blessed rain that will save them. But the harsh lightning and thunder as it flashes and booms, one of these bolt of lighting has struck an old withered oak, dried out from the heat it bursts into flames and the western side of the territory near the swamp begins to burn, smoke spreads through the forest quickly suffocating anything that does not escape it dark clutches in time. Other prey animals are caught by the savage flames that is quickly reducing the dry plants into ash, and then, with a mighty roar the clouds split pouring torrents of rain down upon the land drowning the fire putting it out before it consumes the whole territory.
Stage 3
The fire has been put out, the rain has back off but continues to fall lightly and it seems the danger of death by fire or dehydration has passed. But now there is a new threat looming in the air- with such a large amount of water poured over the land after so long without any the ground has become loose and the chance of mudslides and rockslides is high meaning pack members must watch their step when patrolling the borders and atop the cliff sides. Pups are not allowed to stray far from the main den for fear of them being swept away in the overflowing river, the land has begun to heal as plants re-growing their lost dry leaves but the land scorched by fire still remains as a constant reminder of how close the pack came to destruction. This land has been names The Ashen Lands.
