(Sure) Misty yawned and woke up. She started to strech her tired muscles, and soon she was back to her sugar-high state, as usasl. The gray pup turned around to see...
(Is Rayen there? Or is she still in the forest?)

Misty quickly got up and followed Rayen's scent (She had become quite good at smelling scents) to a river.

Rayen battled her way throw the wind toward the shelter of the forest, the wind was severely cut down by the towering trees who swayed and groaned with the powerful wind. Shaking the snow that had piled on her off the dark colored women looked back over the other two she had been leading, her keen eyes sweeping over them looking for any harm that may have come to them during their travel. Moving deeper into the protection of the forest, its dark depths like unto the early hours of a moonless midnight. Naturally Rayen vanished from view, her black pelt allowing her to effortlessly melt into the shadows, only her magma colored eyes could be seen watching her pack-mates, a light of concern shinning within their depths. “This storm is going to be a bad one.” She mused, her voice easily carrying over the noise of the moaning forest. Here the howls of the wind was muffled, but the rhythmic swaying and thrashing of the branches above created a loud creaking sound that added to the clamorous noise of the bending trunks. The trees even though devoid of leaves still provided a think canopy and wall that protected the wolves from the worst of the wind and snow, only a few stray flakes finding their way through the entangled branches above. Naturally Rayen worried for her pack, had they all found shelter in time? Knowing that she could not do anything to help anyone at this time she pushed the concern to the back of her mind, when the stormed stopped she’d search the entire territory until she found everyone. Sitting the she-wolf let out a tired sigh. “Come, we can conserve more heat if we are closer together.” her eyes traveled to the canopy above, as enshrouded by darkness as the rest of the forest. “All we can do is wait.”

Willow trotted after Rayen. She let out a sigh of relief when they entered in among the trees. The She-wolf felt safer in the forests. Willow was born in deep woods, she was even named after a tree. Almost immediately, Rayen disappeared into the shadows. But Willow followed her by scent rather then sight. Unfortunately, for Willow, she was the opposite of camouflage. Her silvery white coat made her stick out like a sore thumb. She envied Rayen's Dark brown/black coat. "It won't be like this for long." The She-wolf thought, glancing at the sky. Tree branches swayed above her head. Almost at once, a flock of Snow flurries blew into her face, making her sneeze. In a relatively short time, the ground was already turning white.

Settling down in the pine needles and leaf littler Rayen had resigned herself to a long wait, laying her head on her lager paws she listened to the sounds of the storm her eyes watching Willow come closer. The white female's pelt would aid her well when hunting in the snow, complete opposite of her dark brown/black coat. She would need to work extra hard to catch prey, so it was and so it would always be for wolves of darker coloration. A small smile touched her lips when a flurry of snow caused Willow to sneeze. She muttered a bless you before curling into a ball to conserve warmth, even with her thick pelt that protected her against the chill the female had the driving instinct to conserve as much heat and energy as possible. Fluffy tail covering her black nose to protect it from the worst of the cold the Ruby allowed a deep sigh to escape her lips as she rested her body. Her mind was still awake and alert, keen eyes observing g the world through slits.

Willow Sat down next to Rayen, her green eyes were narrowed slits against the storm. She gazed around worrily, shaking her fur every so often since the snow was coming down hard. "Where was Ardent?" The fae worried about her new friend. "What if she got lost, or is stuck in the snow?" Willow knew that Ardent had shorter legs so she couldn't keep up as much. But it still had seemed like a while! The She-wolf then stood up and raised her muzzle. She let a deep and meaningful howl into the air. She called to Ardent, and any other pack member in the Amber Forest.

She watched as Willow let lose a howl, knowing that it would be carried away by the wind long before it reached anyone's ears. Only wolves within a short distance would be able to hear her call, if they were lucky the screaming of the wind as it tore at the upper branches of the trees drowned out noise that dared contend with it. That was why she had not called out, knowing that it was a waste of breath, as soon as the wind died down enough for her cry to carrying over it she would call to her pack and alert them of her and Willow's location. Until then she could only sit and worry about them, prey to what ever deity that existed that they would be okay.

Willow perked her ears, listening for a response, but none came. Sighing, the She-wolf padded over to where Rayen was and layed down. She placed her head on her paws and yawned. The snow was still piled high. But the wolf could hardly feel it through her thick winter coat. "I should really stay up and keep watch for Ardent." She thought. "But I'm so sleepy...besides Rayen can keep watch." Willow then closed her eyes.
The soft sound of falling snow. The swaying of nearby trees. The heat radiating from the wolf next to her. All of these things contributed to her dream. And when Willow opened her eyes, she was no longer sitting next to Rayen, but another dark colored wolf. It was her brother, Ash. The She-wolf's mind was replaying an old memory, one that Willow would have to be dead to forget. She and Ash were lying together, under the thick branches of a Bush. Outside, it was pouring buckets, but under the mess of branches it was nice and warm. The two were only yearlings then, young and innocent. But they both stared wide eyed at the entrance, fearful of what the following day would bring.
"What do you think those wolves are like Ash?" Willow asked her brother fearfully.
Ash just shrugged. "I don't know. I heard that their pack is bigger...but our pack is pretty strong too." She could tell that he was nervous.
The next day their leader planned to attack a neighboring pack who were closing around their borders. Willow and her brother had helped drive away loners and smaller packs, but this pack was supposed to be huge!
Willow snuggled closer to Ash. It wasn't the thought of fighting that made her so tense. It was wondering ' who would be dead afterwards' that made her tremble. What if it was her? The thought of her broken mangled body lying out on the plain terrified her. And even worse, was the thought of Ash like that...
The yearling must have been trembling very hard. Because Ash picked up his head and gazed at her, concern in his eyes. "Are you Ok?" He asked. The She-wolf gazed down at her paws. "I'm fine, it's just that...well...I'm just scared!" Ash forced a smile and licked her cheek. "Yea, me too. I guess we all are. But'll be ok, you'll see." That was like her brother, to be positive, even in the most darkest situations. Ash then layed his head on his paws and closed his eyes.
But Willow could not go to sleep. When she closed her eyes, the only thing she could think of was the image of her or Ash's body, laying out on the moor, blanketed by flies, left to the horrible creatures of the night. The She-wolf pressed closer to her brother, trying to suppress her trembling. Ash was the only wolf she could really trust. And without him Willow would be broken. A life without him was no life at all. She needed him by her side.
"Stay by me." She whispered softly to him.
"Always." He murmured back.

Rayen was tempted to sleep, but she did not as she remained awake watching the land as the snow storm raged one. She could not distinguish night from day for all was dark due to the forest and storm blocking out the sky above, as she lay there beside her pack-mate she watched as Willow slept. Wondering if she was dreaming pleasant dreams or if her nights were invaded by dark memories like that of her leader's, her past was blacker and bloodier then most's the crimson liquid shed by her own fangs. No she did not mind staying away for it meant she avoided the horrors of her nightmares for a moment longer, and so she quietly kept up the vigil protecting her pack-mate and allowing her to sleep as long as she desired instead of changing watch throughout the night...or day.
As she lay there sharing the heat generated by each other Rayen noted that the noise was dieing away as the storm began to lessen, hours later it had stopped all together leaving the land in silence. The lack of sound could be unnerving to most after adjusting to so much noise, but to Rayen the moment of peace of priceless as she gazed upon the land now covered in pure white, it reminded her of the innocence all among her pack had lost. They were all misfits, outcasts, orphans, wolves without anyone to rely upon gathered together by the need to be apart of a family again. By now the leader was exhausted, she had been awake a day and a night, not including the time that she and Willow had escorted Ardent to the pack's land. Even so she hauled herself to her feet, careful not to awaken the slumbering female beside her. What she was about to do would certainly do that, let her sleep a few seconds longer. Lifting her head the powerful wolfess let forth a loud unwavering howl, hauntingly it carried through the forest, bursting through the canopy above to fly to every corner of their territory. Calling anyone who heard her to them, pack member and loner alike.

For several seconds, Willow hovered in that place where she was half asleep, half awake. The time where the last shards of her dream were fading into reality. The She-wolf then opened her eyes. For a few seconds she was still almost in her dream world, thinking of the time with Ash. Then when she looked around, she was stunned for a few seconds. Then Willow remembered where she was. In the Dancing Stones Pack. Under the Amber Forests. Ash was long dead. And all at once the feeling of sorrow and grief coursed through her, threatning to choke her. Her tail dropped, and her shoulders sagged. She stared longingly at the snow, trying despertly to pull some happy feelings back. But they had disolved in the mist. Willow now rose to her paws. She stretched and shook her silvery pelt. Oddly enough, she felt more tired now then before she went to sleep.

(( I'm still on LOA guys, I just had some time ^^))
Ardent looked around, taking in her surroundings. The forest was bare, except for the two in front of her. Rayen blended nicely, but Ardent's sharp hunter eyes picked out her outline, even in the blissful darkness. Willow however, was like a single tree in a field of short grass. She was completely noticeable by sight, but, she walked softly. You didn't hear her the slightest. 'Probably because she's a hunter. Walking silently is easy and normal for her...' Ardent tried to stay behind them, but eventually wandered off, taking in the sights and smells. She moved silently, leaping up so as not to get stuck in the snow. She stayed within close range, just in case Willow or Rayen needed her. At one point, she heard a howl, and rushed through the trees, stopping while she was still concealed and out of sight. She peered at Willow, sitting with her head raised to the air just as the last string of noise left her rounded mouth. 'It doesn't look like they need me... So I'll go explore some more! I'm sure they won't mind...' Leaving before she could talk herself out of it, Ardent rushed back to where she was. Here, the snow was a little higher, due to the larger gap above her head, where the tree branches did not meet. It also left a lovely opening where the stars were crystals shining bright, high above her burnt, red head. She sat there for a long time, not feeling the cold for her thick, fiery fur. Another howl broke through the air. Hauntingly beautiful, it drew Ardent in, like a mouse following cheese, unlike the other one. This howl was firm, steady. Intense. Immediately, Ardent rose and was set in motion, nearly flying over the snow. It was now that she realized how much time had past. Already she could see slivers of light penetrating the thick branches that floated so majestically above. She slowed as she exited the trees, her eyes burning with happiness. She came up behind them quietly, purposely making soft noises so as not to startle them. "Rayen, I'm sorry for wandering." She smiled as she circled around the two faes and sat down next to Willow.

Rayen waited patiently, her tail flicking back and forth her senses alert for the other's. Ardent was the first to come, apologizing for wandering away. A soft smile lightened her features as she took in the happy expression upon her face. " No worries my friend, it is understandable that you would want to get to know your new home." She answered kindly, her eyes leaving the two wolves as she looked into the forest wondering if anyone else would answer her call.
