Akindo gazed at the Diamond River intently, wondering when she would become a Diamond, strong and fierce and dangerous and beautiful like the river.

The roar of the torrential rapids filled the air their thundering cry only rivaled by the Crystal falls that fed the rushing beast, foaming and swirling the un-tamable river slammed unrelentingly against any rock that dared to break its surface. Calming as it spread out toward the shore, bubbling and flowing along the sand and pebbles, creating a babble as the water spoke to its fiercer faster flowing half as if urging it to quiet, or encouraging it to flow ever faster.
Assisted by the noise the dark figure moved silently through the trees the grew alongside the water, moving from shadow to shadow as its ebony pelt helped it to blend into the surrounding landscape. Fiery orange eyes watched the churning liquid intelligence sparkling deep within those magma pools, for a moment eh figure paused to admire the grace, beauty, and insurmountable power the river possessed, even the drought had not been able to stop it in its tracks.
Now with the added rain water it flowed ever higher, adding a new worry to replace that of a drought. Flooding and mudslides could result from so much water pouring down from the sky, and although it had stopped for now the dark clouds still remained high above- like vultures watching the land for death. Pushing such thoughts aside the Ruby continued on, her ever watchful gaze falling on the form Akindo a wolf she had accepted but had yet to fully get to know. Quietly the female made her way toward the Quarts, stopping to st many paces away as she cleared her throat to gain the other's attention.

Akindo turned her head; surprise lighting her flaming indigo gaze. "Oh hello there Rayen." She smiled politely and then turned back to face the river, noticing the mud that speckled her coat, and suddenly feeling embarrassment wash over her. "The river's getting higher isn't it?" She asked anxiously though in truth she'd only just noticed. "Do you think it will flood it's banks?"

The female smiled at the surprised look in Akindo's eyes, but she did not laugh or tease merely replying in a friendly tone. "Hello, Akindo." Her head cocked eyes trailing toward the river, "Yes it is, " Her gaze shifted to the gray sky, "The land around it is rather high, if it is to burst its banks and flood we will have a far warning it will take another large down pour. For now mud and rockslides are our worst threat, there are plently of high ground that we can use to escape the river, but they all are near or on the cliffs. "

River quietly slipped in, her river-like markings were caked in mud. She had come a long way from her family and friends in Denali but it was something she was willing to give up, in order to see the world. The yearling never was timid or fearful. Being the first born, River usually was the first to try new things and then her siblings would mimic.
She rushed along the side of the Diamond River, her muddy, white treads barely having time to touch the ground. At a first look, it may have seemed the she-wolf was gliding above the ground. Perhaps it was her thin legs that made them blend in or the fact that her usually ivory-paws were now blended in with mud and earthen product. River enjoyed the wetness, especially the intensity of the white rapids. Not only was she named for her appearance but her love of water, particularly rivers. She slowed down to dip her head entirely in water. Her lips parted to reveal a salmon-hued tongue.
It slid across the cool water and refreshed the wolfess. Rather quickly, River was up and on her way on the side lines of the waterway. She still hadn't grown from her ignorant, pup-like antics and so she barely noticed any others of her kind. Instead, she let her vivid green eyes examine the smallest of creatures.

rayen's ears flickd back as the scent of an approaching wolf reached her nose, turning her head to look over hr shoulder, head cocked to set it at a rather awkward angle the female watched as this new female drew closer. The form small, caring all the signs of youth as it came toward them. Unaware of the two wolves and possible danger, Rayen remained silent as she watched this wolf.

River hummed a cheery song she had learned from her uncle as she pranced along, not having a care in the world. It was quite odd that she wasn't in the least homesick but actually, River had gotten sick of home. "I want to make something out of my life," She had explained to her mother. The yearling let out a yawn and found a place where she could cross the river. Rather swiftly, River thrust herself in the air and landed with a small splash in the fresh water. She allowed herself to swim around happily before finally reaching the bank. Pulling herself up, River quickly caught onto an unfamiliar scent. She scrambled to her feet to pushed her small, black nose onto the ground. The she-wolf's lime green optics then slid up to see a wolf 'appear'. This wasn't her first wolf to find outside of her home pack but River found that as she looked at this wolf, she seemed more and more like a wolf of authority. With a sigh, River lifted her head and nodded slightly. She didn't know what to say so she just stood there, flicking her wet tail, studying the female and twitching her ears for sounds.

Rayen watched as the female crossed the river, a brow raising the water was very high and even the calmer parts could be dangerious. But she said nothing, waiting for the wolf to take notice of the two canines. Swiveling her head back to a more natural position rayen shifted her body so she was facing the on coming wolf, a slight smile causing her lips to twitch when the new comer noticed them.
Rayen watched the wolf as she seemed to process things in her head, but she had not said anything either. Seeming to expect the dark figure to speak first, but she merely gazed at the younger female, her head cocking to the side as a sign of curiousity.

River peered around awkwardly with her lime orbs and grunted softly. "Hello." She said in a soft voice. "Just passing by." She added, so the wolf didn't think she was intruding when indeed, she was a pioneer. River examined Rayen's movement and almost mimicked them by looking relaxed and at ease. She allowed her eyes to wander upon an orange butterfly flying past her. The she-wolf had a deep urge to pounce but shook her head, determined to part with her childish ways. Her attention then returned to the stranger.

Akindo watched with faint amusement and then shook herself as if to remind the other two that she was still present. "Hello there." She greeted, breaking the ice. "My name's Akindo, what's yours? I'm new here." She added as she exchanged a sly glance with Rayen. "Are you a new member too?" She cocked her head in curiosity, her gentle eyes simmering as the rapids reflected off of them.

It took River a moment before she was able to notice another wolf present. She straightened herself up, a bit embarrassed she had been so ignorant. "Hello, I'm River." The she-wolf dipped her head politely and then briskly shook it to her second question. River wanted to desperately sit on her haunches but she kept herself alert and focused, determined to make a good impression on this pack she was visiting.

Hazel was closer to the water now, but the smell of wolf was strong. She paused a few paces away from the river, knowing that if the other wolves turned around now they would see her. She silently padded to the waters edge before gulping down the cool water.
after taking her fill she turned to where the wolves stood, seeing only their silhouettes. From their voices she guessed one of them was youth and the other was of a high standing in the pack, she couldn't guess much about the other. She chuckled to herself, she could understand so much about someones charactor just by their voice.

Misty, who before had been chasing a blue butterfly, saw the new wolf, and walked over to Rayen and the newcomer and broke the silence with a, "Who's this?" that was cheerfull, but Misty made it have a hint of coldness, for this she-wolf could be a danger.

Rayen nodded to the new wolf who had introduced herself as River, "Greetings River, I am rayen leader of the pack" She started, noting how she did not sit, "What brings to the Dancing Stones Pack Territory?" Her ears swiveled back catching the sound of lapping water, a noise even though common seemed out of place among the usual din of the river. Turning her head slightly the dark female spotted another wolf this one looked older, even older then hreself actually.
A soft chuckled escaped the wolf's lips, causing the female to wonder as to what she found so amusing. But she said nothing about the action, merely raising her voice so this new wolf could hear her. "And who might you be stranger?"
